  Welcome

The Chateau Volterra surveys the Mediterranean Sea from a commanding position on Cap Camarat, on the south-eastern shore of the presqu'ˆÆle of Saint-Tropez. Set 100 metres (320 feet) above sea level, it enjoys unimpeded views of the Mediterranean on three sides and, to the east, gazes over its own immaculately tended vineyards. Although only a short drive from the village of Ramatuelle, complete privacy is afforded by the Chateau's extensive grounds and its rocky waterfront.

Constructed between 1906 and 1912, the chateau was designed to reflect the solid elegance of a traditional Tuscan palazzo. Its terracotta-coloured stone towers are crowned by gently sloping tiled roofs and a central arched loggia, fronted by terraced gardens, softens its massive faˆßade.

In 1999 the Chateau was purchased by group of Canadian investors captivated by its magnificent views, the grand scale of its rooms and the promise of its gardens and vineyards. A design was developed for the interior that, while respecting the original spirit of the building, turned its vast rooms and hallways into elegant but thoroughly liveable spaces.
